UPDATED: Carpool Map

Dismissal Changes Begin Tuesday, August 14

  1. Parents wanting to walk up and pick up their child or have a hard car seat to work with (in other words you have to get out to put your child in the car) will go to Bawell and park on the grass by the cafeteria gate. Teachers will be outside with your child(ren). Please make certain that you complete the page that ask if your child will be a “walk-up” child.
  2. ALL PARENTS WILL RECEIVE A DISMISSAL NUMBER. Parent and child should memorize this number. We will use numbers to call carpool students to cars We have a large card with your number that is going home with your child today. Please help your child memorize it. Put the number on your dashboard on the passenger side. Teachers will have a list of students and numbers with them just in case!
  3. No parking in the parking lot from 3:00 until the end of afternoon dismissal.

If everyone will follow these directions I think we can make dismissal more pleasant!

I called our security person and found out that neither the sheriff nor the police will send someone out daily to help with traffic.

If you have questions or concerns about Arrival & Dismissal, please call the front office at 342-6630.

Direct Busing Petition Form

If you complete the ONLINE form, we can more quickly submit our petition.

The PTO is pressing the EBR school system’s transportation department to institute direct bus routes (rather than transfer routes) for our students. Currently all BR FLAIM students’ only option for riding the bus is via a transfer route. A direct bus route will shorten their bus ride time tremendously and ensure that they are riding a bus with only BR FLAIM students.
In order for the transportation department to consider direct bus routes, we must submit a petition that includes a minimum of 45 signatures per proposed direct bus route. We are asking that you fill out this petition and get it back to us by Wednesday, Aug. 15th. This is time sensitive, as the school system will have all buses allocated within the next few weeks. Please note that by signing this petition you are NOT COMMITTING TO PUTTING YOUR CHILD ON A BUS. This is only to gather information to turn over to the transportation department so that they can propose direct routes. If you complete the form online, we can more quickly submit our petition.

Letter from Mrs. Miller
Ms. Miller.jpg

Dear Parents,

Hello from “FLAIM”!  I hope that all of you are having a wonderful summer.  It is going by so quickly!  By the time you get this letter there will only be a few weeks before the beginning of school.   I thought that you might like to know some of what will happen this coming school year.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new students, teachers, and parents this year. A BIG WELCOME TO ALL OF YOU TO OUR NEW SITE.

Supply Lists

PTO school supplies will be ready when students report to school.  For those of you who did not choose to participate in the PTO School Supply project through LA Office supply, supply lists are ready!  You may pick them up at the school anytime Monday through Thursday from 8:00- 4:00.  If you would like for us to fax or email you a copy, we can do that as well, just call Ms. Nunnery at 343-6630. You can also download them here.

There is a mandatory $25 supply fee collected from each student.  These fees are used to replenish classroom materials, festival materials and purchase planners and folders. This fee is due on the first day of classes. The school may reduce or waive supply fees for economically disadvantaged students or are financially unable to pay them. Please contact the school for more information.

We have many of our teachers returning.  Since we have been at two sites, many of you do not know all of the teachers, so I will wait until Open House to introduce everyone.  Our new teachers with CODOFIL will arrive the week of July 23rd.   Ms. Mahan (Wild), 3rd grade ELA, will be returning this year.  Ms. Jodi Miller has moved to Kansas so we will have a new 4th grade ELA teacher.  This year we are adding a second French class to 1st grade and in fourth grade we are adding a Spanish and Mandarin class.  It will be wonderful having everyone together again.

For the dress code and more uniform information, click here.

On Fridays we do have Spirit Day.  Students may wear their BR FLAIM T-shirt to school on each Friday.

The school day for FLAIM begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:25 PM. Pre-K dismissal is at 3:10 PM.

Letter to Pre-K Parents

Dear Pre-K Parents,

There will be a meeting for all Pre-Kindergarten parents on Thursday, August 9th at 8:00 am in the gym at 4510 Bawell St., our new site.

You will meet all of us at that time and then go to your individual classrooms to meet with your Pre- Kindergarten teacher/s.  No students will attend school that day.  Download School Supply list.

Staggered attendance is used in Pre-K to orient the students to their new setting and allow them to become comfortable with the teacher and para.  Students must wear uniforms the day they attend.  Please call the front office for the staggered day your child needs to attend. On Wednesday, August 15th all Pre-K students will attend.

We look forward to meeting all of you and having you as a member of the FLAIM family.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.  Because of the move, it will be hectic, but we are here to answer your questions…343-6630.
