Hello from “FLAIM”! I hope that all of you are having a wonderful summer. It is going by so quickly! By the time you get this letter there will only be a few weeks before the beginning of school. I thought that you might like to know some of what will happen this coming school year.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new students, teachers, and parents this year. Our teachers will be working closely together to ensure the quality of our program is maintained as we grow. Ms. Borruano, Ms. McBride and I have been working diligently all summer making plans for our continued success. We have made plans for the year that very much include all of our students and their families. We are excited about this new school year adventure!
Supply lists were sent with each student at the end of the school year. However if you need a copy, you may pick them up at the school anytime Monday through Thursday from 8:00- 4:00, or click here. If you would like for us to fax or email you a copy, we can do that as well, please call Ms. Nunnery (Primary) at 343-6630 or Ms. Bradford (Intermediate) at 383-2611.
We have many familiar teachers returning and a few new additions.
Pre-K: In Pre-K, we will have a new teacher taking Ms. Ornorato’s position.
Kindergarten: Ms. Ornorato is joining the Kindergarten FLAIM team as a new ELA teacher. We have added a new French Kindergarten class. Madam Marie Truttmann will be the teacher of that class.
1st Grade: Ms. Yao will be our new 1st grade Mandarin teacher while Ms. Wang is completing her certification work; she will return next year. Our new 1st grade Spanish teacher is Javier Fernandez Martinez.
2nd Grade: We are so sad to announce that Ms. Goddard, our 2nd grade Spanish Immersion teacher, is retiring. Ms. Goddard has been with FLAIM for 19 years. We will miss her. At this time, the administration is interviewing teachers for her position and will soon announce her replacement. Madame Grangeon will be our new 2nd grade French teacher.
3rd Grade: Our new 3rd grade Mandarin teacher is Ian Cohen. The new 3rd Spanish second track teacher will be announced soon. Our new 3rd ELA for our second track is Amber Mazuera.
Administration: We are excited to announce that Ms. Allison Blumenthal will be our new Primary music teacher. Our new Primary clerk is Ms. Misty Walker. Mrs. Lisa Stevens found a wonderful new opportunity, and we are so happy for her.

On Fridays, we do have Spirit Day. Students may wear their BR FLAIM T-shirt to school on each Friday.
BR FLAIM will continue to conduct our own extended day program. The extended day program will be located at the Primary campus. We are working with the transportation department to have our Intermediate extended day students bussed to the Primary campus. You may officially begin registering for the program at either campus. Download the packet.
